PPND - the Platform for Neolithic Radiocarbon Dates

32°36'11' N    35°33'12'' E

The site of Munhata was excavated between 1962 and 1963 by Jean Perrot (1964, 1966, 1967). Its material remains hint at a Late PPNB and a Pottery Neolithic occupation of Yarmurkian style. Both radiocarbon dates have deviations of +/- 400 resp. +/- 500 years and have therefore not been calibrated. The older date would cover the whole range from the PPNA until the transition from Middle to Late PPNB (9200 BC - 7700 BC), the younger one is out of the range of the Pre-Pottery-Neolithic.
