Gilgal, like Gesher, is one of the rare sites with probably only one occupation. However, it is not possible to decide whether this occupation was continuous or only seasonal. The sum of the dates suggests that the site was occupied between 9550 BC and 9100 BC (63.9%).[1] Hypothetically the remains could be of a permanent occupation and a combination of the dates thus be justified. Consequently the time range would be reduced to 9300-9255 BC (68.2%). This is, however, in poor agreement with the date of Pta-4585 (agreement test: A= 53.6%).
[1]The whole range is 9650-9600 (4.3%); 9550-9100 (63.9%).
