The sum of the two radiocarbon dates of Demirköy (Rosenberg, Peasnall 1998; Rosenberg 2011:80) ranges between 9410 and 9280 BC.[1] Though the material culture discovered at Demirköy supports a chronological succession of Hallan Çemi and Demirköy, it should be considered that new AMS-Data date Hallan Çemi to a slightly later period than previously suggested, and in none of the soundings at Demirköy the natural soil had been reached. Thus, a partial overlap of both sides does not seem improbable.
Close similarities in material culture and burial rituals with findings of the upper layers at Körtik Tepe are in good accordance with the radiocarbon data of Demirköy.
